Fresh starts

I love Mondays.
Sounds weird, but there's so much optimism in the week ahead. I charge through morning duties (dropping little ones where they need to be after random breakfasts and time on the back verandah, complete the weekly produce shop) and then home to do my stuff.

Checking online resources, cooking, daydreaming and a spot of self directed learning.

Here's my attempt at a potted vegetable patch, speaking of self directed learning. North east facing, some cutting were gifts, some transplants and another gift of new seedlings - yay! Just have to keep the water up to them and add more!

A lap around the garden is also very worthwhile, seeing how our little ones are taking off. Yesterday saw us harvest a couple of potatoes (first time ever!) and met with squeals of delight from my daughter - just like I'd discovered a pot of gold, only better as we could eat them for dinner.

The weekend saw us up in Sydney, R&R with family and a little local wanderings. Glebe has some treats - one being a quite little bookstore Florilegium, dedicated totally to all things botanical. Filled a couple of gaps on our bookshelf with awesome reference material.

Happy Spring

It rolls around so quickly! 3/4 of the way through the year and everything is leaping back to life.
We've been in our home for 7 months now (after Wwoofing our way around the planet - more about this later) and getting ourselves into farmer mode.

We have a bit of space to play with, so now it's working out where the kids like playing, where we want to be and what is actually manageable!
Everyday we count our lucky stars that we've managed to manifest such an incredible home and place to share with friends.

Here stands stage one of our orchard. Fresh from Daleys. We were super excited about out soon to be grove and the kids were super excited about the cardboard boxes.

Just big enough to fit a small child in each one.

Happy days indeed.

How awesome is today!

Really - it doesn't get much sweeter. The sun is shining, I'm doing my permaculture homework (supposedly), starting a blog some friends encouraged me into and regularly staring out into blue skies.

Earlier on, I got to ride with my daughter to school and check out the motion on the ocean. I got to ride home and brew a cup of organic coffee. I got to do a lap around our awesome garden and check on the development of growing seeds.

Thanks universe.

And yes - this little one was super tasty.
